A film appreciation workshop
12 to 16 April, 2010

Synopsis

This compact five day workshop will give participants a unique exposure, familiarising them with landmark films and the evolution of the language of cinema over the past century. The workshop will enable participants to see contemporary films critically. It may also encourage some to develop cinematic structures based their own stories.

The course will be conducted by Chandita Mukherjee, an award winning film maker trained at the FTII, winner of two National Awards and the European Union's Prix Jules Verne for science communication.

You would do this workshop if:

  • You love cinema
  • You are interested in seeing classics of the cinema
  • You want to engage in critical thinking about cinema
  • You want to make films yourself some day

    At the workshop you will:

  • Learn how the language of cinema evolved worldwide
  • Watch international film classics
  • Discuss them in detail with a film maker
  • Understand the nuances of shots, scenes, sequences, lighting, montage, mise-en-scène

Venue, Timing and Dates

The sessions will be held 10am to 6pm, from 12th to 16th April, 2010 at Comet Media Foundation, Topiwala Municipal School, Topiwala Lane, off Lamington Road, Mumbai 400 007.
