The toys at Learning Ladder are mainly made by traditional craftspersons from organic materials like wood, lacquer, bamboo and cotton fabric. Apart from the pleasure of play, they provide an opportunity to the child to establish a connection to the region and craft tradition of a toy.

Apart from cultural relevance, these toys have various pedagogical strengths:

principles of physics (balance, torque, centrifugal force etc) are grasped intuitively

mathematical and strategy-making skill are encouraged

spatial skills and eye-hand coordination are strengthened

Once you have made your selection, please drop us an enquiry by email at cometmediafdn at gmail dot com giving the names or code numbers of the toys chosen and the address to which the parcel is to go.

On hearing from you, we will check if the items are available. The supplies of handmade toys are seasonal and some may not be in stock. Since these are handmade, each toy is unique and the colours and sizes may differ from the pictures shown. Let us know if you have a colour preference. We will also check the weight and work out delivery charges.

All these variables would be sorted out in our response to the initial enquiry, which will come to you in the form of an estimate. On receiving our estimate, please confirm the order and send the amount by cheque or bank transfer and we will dispatch the order.
